Shipping a bike from Dushanbe (Tajikistan) to India

Hello guys,
Me and a friend of mine are planning a trip from London to Vietnam this year, and we are currently looking at our options of getting from Tajikistan (we want to experience the Pamirs) to India (to continue our journey to Nepal).
The simplest (hmm?) option would be to just ride through Afghanistan and Pakistan, but as we all know, Northern Pakistan is known for being very dangerous nowadays, same goes for Afghanistan. Also I just checked and visas for those two countries cost ridiculous amount of money (around 350 GBP or $500 combined). So we would prefer to avoid this area (enough danger on the road as it is), and we thought, there must be a way of shipping our bikes by plane from Dushanbe to, say, Delhi?

Has anyone done it? How much (roughly) are we looking at?
Any advice on this topic from the knowledgeable HUBB community? :)

Thanks a million,
Tim (visorhead.com)

I'm no expert on the subject, but a lot of people tend to ship their bike to India via Iran. Some even with a stop in Dubai. I do think your options from Tajikistan are rather limited since there is no sea there.
