Hi GS
Travellers have gone through Russia this summer without incident and enjoyed it thoroughly. See Greg Frazier's account: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/gre...02-07-30.shtml Although they may be overly cautious, the US State Department's Travel Advisories are useful references. See below for link to the advisory on Russia: http://travel.state.gov/russia.html See the following link for common-sense suggestions that apply to every country: Travel to High Risk Areas: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/tri...m.shtml#Travel Avoiding Crime: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/tri...CrimeAvoidance Also, remember there are Horizons Unlimited communities in Russia (Moscow, Novosibirsk and Orel) which you can contact who can show you around (and also show you where to avoid). http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/com...tEnglish.shtml Good luck with your trip. ------------------ Susan Johnson "It matters not what goal you seek Its secret here reposes: You've got to dig from week to week To get Results or Roses."
