Peru, East side
 

We are biking North out of La Paz in January, headed first for the east side of Peru, then back South over the top, and possibly back up and into Lima. Can anyone help re:
1 Cusco - Puerto Maldonaldo road,
2. Pucallpa area
3. From 2. up to Tarapoto
4. From 3. to Jaen
5. Cajamarca, Huaraz
6. Finally, can anyone help re a safe storage place in Lima for the bikes, for more than 6 months

You might have a problem with this, temporary import is 90 days & almost feckin impossible to get it extended.

I know people who've had bikes impounded & its taken weeks to get things resolved so please be careful.

Yeah, thanks for that VT, we suspected that the Aduana might cause problems. We are going to try and resolve this with the Peruvian Embassy here in London, you never know, we might strike lucky. Either way I'll keep you posted.
