Any updates on the roads in Peru?
We are currently in Cuenca and need to travel through Peru (to get to Santiago and then home to New Zealand). Are there any safe routes through Peru for a 2-up couple on a KTM950 Adventure? Whats App number: 0064273549914 Cheers, Lorraine and Neil |
Roads south of Lima are fine. The roads from Piura and Trujillo down to Lima were bad, hopefully someone else can update you on them accurately. It's such a key road I imagine they'll have got it open by now but don't have any actual information on it.

I am currently on the coast just south of Lima and having asked around I have been told that Buses and trucks are now going north from Lima after old roads and tracks have been linked.
But as to which they are is proving difficult to locate, checking on the internet is proving useless at present. If someone is already in Lima please ask with bus companies which they are using or going to use. There is however two other north south routes one central 3N and the amazonian 5N with a few links will get you to Ecuador. I will soon go into Lima for parts and repairs and find my own route but as I am in no rush will see what where when to do. My preference at this time is to go inland towards Iquitos. |
We are in Lima at Lucky Hostel in Miraflores. Bike is with Touratech Lima until Monday. Ivan at TT had customers heading North and can get updates.

Hi Nigel and Sharyn,
Just got into Miraflores an hour ago, great if you can get some details from the guys from TT. Happy to meet up for a beer or coffee and trade some routes etc. Bryan |
