Machu Picchu Closed April 2016
 

Just a heads-up for anyone planning a Peru or Machu Picchu trip this coming April: I am in Peru now, and was at the US Embassy in Lima this morning. They have signs posted advising that Machu Picchu will be closed for maintenance all of April 2016.
Plan accordingly...

Although the posters at the US Embassy in Lima, Peru say otherwise, here is a link explaining that the main area will remain open, but some of the surrounding areas that tourists also visit at Machu Picchu will close.
