Fuel in Zimbabwe
 

Hey, we are planning to travel from Botswana to Malawi, and were hoping to go through Zimbabwe, but want to find out if it's possible to get unleaded fuel there at the moment. We know it changes from week to week, but if anyone's there now and can tell us the situation in Bulawayo and Harare that would be great. We're aiming to be in those cities around June 10th.

Hey guys, I'm on a Dakar as well. I've run several thousand miles on leaded fuel without a problem. Don't let the leaded stuff scare you. It will probably damage the cat converter, but the bike won't skip a beat. H.

You'll have to hunt for fuel. Usually at the garage on Robert Mugabe - if that fails, try the garage at Hillside shops.

I came up from South Africa a few days. Fuel available in Bubi 80kms on road to Harare. Only black market possibility after that to Harare. Filled up then in Total garage entering outskirts. South Africa prices and took rand as I was on a bike!

just been in Zim.. pain in the ass.. take the route through Zambia to Malawai... easier and more fun

We had most luck finding petrol of the farmers. Friendly and willing to help out. $1 US a litre on average
