Best border to enter Vietnam
 

Greetings to all from an extremely hot and muggy Bangkok.
We have heard of various problems people have been experiencing trying to get their bike into Vietnam (ie. Frank in the last ezine).
Has anyone had any recent success at getting in and if so which border crossing would you recommend - we could come in either from Laos or Cambodia.

Hai Lisa,

I heared (trough the Bankok Bikers) that it's best to enter at the Nam Phao -> Cau treo (laos-vietnam) border.
The reason for not entering trough Cambodia is that there is many car and bike-theft there, witch are then brought into Vietnam. So the Vietnamese are carefull to except a bike or car comming in from Cambodia and since bike over 175 cc are oficially not alowed: problem.
