Hi, as I already suggested you on the other thread, you have to cross Albania, I've visited the country 5 days last august and I found it safe to travel, just keep your eyes open on the albanian driving skill.
The route depends also from where you are in Greece, nice and safe route goes through Florina (Greece) - Ohrid (Macedonia) - Elbasan (Albania) - Tirana - Shkoder. After this you cross the border to Montenegro just south of Shkoder lake (5 minutes easy border crossing).

In Ohrid you can sleep in private house, I suggest you Velice (Lonely Planet - Western Balkans).
From Ohrid you can travel direct to Montenegro in 1 day, but I suggest you to visit Berat, not very far from Elbasan and stay at Mangalemi Hotel, Tomi the owner is very kind and old Berat is nice to visit.

If you need pictures or gps tracks/waypoints just email me

ciao
Luciano

When I was in Albania, last year, I was always with some local people so I don't have any experience about the safety for single traveles. but when I told I would like to go there with my bike, they advised me not to drive at night and never to drive alone on deserted roads but to drive together with some cars.

You can read about my trip here:

I just had a great blast through Czech, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia, Kosovo, Makedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria and back to Czech. I loved every minute of it, but have still got sore hands from some of the potholes - Kawasaki's ZX6R has a very stiff front end!

I was a bit worried about bike theft, but never about personal security. I had a great time and hope to go again before to many other people realise how wonderful it is to travel out there.
