tubes right size
 

Hi guys

I'm leaving in 8 weeks to a 30 days trip and can't find the right size of tubes for my bike 95 bmw K75 to carry in case of a flat .
Bike's tires size are:
100-90-18 front
130-90-17 rear
Can I use another size?
If anyone could give some help on that I would appreciate.

You can use anything with numbers close to yours as long as the last digit, rim size is the same.
you'l see the 140/80/18 is the same as the 110/90/18 tube, actually the tube box has all the numbers on it as use from: 100/80/18 up to 140/90/18.

you can also generally use a larger rim size front tube in a rear tyre in an emergency. Enduro riders will often only carry a 21 inch front, that can also be used in an 18 inch rear in the event of a puncture.

Putting a 21inch tube in an 18 inch wheel may get you mobile but do not leave it in there for longer than you need to get back home or a tire store. The circumference of the 21 is too big and will usually cause the tube to crease which then wears a hole in the fold and you have another flat. Experienced this scenario once from a bike which I did not know had a larger diameter tube than the wheel rating. If any choice needs to be made I would favour a smaller diameter , at least it can stretch and fill the tire without creasing. Then get the correct size.

Thanks for all of your postings.
I finally found the right tubes.The brand is Cheng Shin. I don't know about their quality but was the only place that I could find the specific sizes 100-90-18 F and 130-90-17 R heavy duty.
