Do you use the actual C19 situation to learn things or skills U needed/missed before?

Hi,
I would like to know from you if you are using the actual C19 travel break to gain self developing in skills for traveling you missed on your past trips?

Do you actually work on something, e.g. to get better in mechanical or photographical skills or in off road navigation or in diary writing/drawing or in one pot cooking?

Whatever it is, let me know - I interested to learn from your experience and perception!

P.S.
I wanted to go on a RTW but then I became the legal guardian for my on demencia suffering mum. As sad this situation is for me and as incalculable the actual C19 situation worldwide is, I know that I will start in the next 2-4 years.

Meanwhile I am working to get better in spanish and french. Also I am going to take russian lessons online with a local group in my hometown. Because of closed gyms I created my own fitness program to stay in shape and to train for off roading riding. As soon as restrictions in my area will allow I am going to take off road and trial riding classes again.

Thx Ralph

Facetious answer - I learned how to to have second hand adventures on Facebook and YouTube. In the last year I've been all over the planet riding along with people for whom the words Covid and Lockdown don't seem to apply.

(Slightly) more sensible answer - I've spent the last year replanning a trip that should have taken place in Aug 20 but even in the absence of Covid issues would probably not have happened because I was woefully underprepared. Now, of course, there's no excuse. I've upped my mechanical skills by rebuilding two bikes and now have fingers like wrenches so I hardly need a tool kit. I'm able to judge bolt torques to the nearest Nm at a glance and weld parts together by the power of prayer.

Out of the workshed the lockdown has seen me write (another) travel book, realise which bits of my literary toolkit had come from Poundland and take a few classes to upgrade them to Snap-On. I'm currently working through a list of changes I need to make to some of my travel staples - clothing, luggage etc. Being old school (and not travelling for a living) I don't feel the need to blog, have a social media presence, gather 'followers' like an old testament prophet (or Johnny Depp) so all of that has passed me by - for the time being anyway. But never say never - as they say on Facebook.

Honestly, the C19 situation has been anything but a break. Have hardly had time to breathe since the whole thing started.

Working for a company that supports self-employed with their social security and administrative dealings with the government you can probably imagine the continuous inundation of questions, complaints, cries for help, ... in the past year or so.

I wish I had to time to even contemplate where the next trip could take me.

I totally understand. A friend of mine a selfemployed tax accountant is in same situation. He had to hire 3 persons more last year due to a still ongoing overload of work.
