Xt600e project

Hi there, I'm new to the forum, though I've been lurking for a while.
Ive just bought a 2002 xt600e last week after just passing my test. Im looking to do some short and long trips as soon as.
Would anyone out there have a pannier rack (that I could fit ortlieb cycle panniers and some box to) or an acerbis 23l tank they may be willing to part with, maybe gathering dust in the garage? Or anything else that would be good for an xt600e overland prep. Thanks for reading. Looking forward to posting some progress pics soon

Hi
Good luck with the build, the bikes are great. Although not very comfortable on long days. I have done some reviews in here on bits I have put on, padded seat, handle bar extension, tank bag.

I have a 2003 model and I love it

Just recently done a Balkans Trip on mine (finished in Dec) and it did everything I asked of it.

I don't know about the pannier racks for Ortlieb cycle panniers, do they clip on or can they hang loose....? But have a look at my XT600E thread and I put some photos on there for someone else who was looking at putting some on his XT, you might be able to get some made up?

Mine has also been strengthened at the rear to help with the weight carry, but it was like that when I got it
I have put braided hoses on which IMO helped improve the brakes a bit, and also I have put thicker fork oil in the front and replaced the rear spring with a progressive Hyperpro.

Cheers

Wayne
