hi can anybody give me info on this tank please ,the maker and what bike it for ,its made of aluminium ,i cant find a name or numbers or marks on it thanks steve

that's a tough one!
The front mount says possibly BMW, the rear says not BMW, the colour says KTM... I'll be watching to see the solution to the puzzle! Did you buy it or?

It definitely looks European.

hi grant , yes i bought it, thought i could always convert it to fit my tt600 but would like to know more about it ,i think it might be for a single cylinder bike as only 1 fuel tap,as you say the orange screams ktm but that could be a false lead, i do hope the answers are out there,take care stay safe steve

Looks like handcraft to me, like from the mid-80s. Probably for an XT500, very similar to the one on the photo I just found in the net.
Bernd Tesch's bike? you could ask him...

hi thanks but the xt500 and sr500 are oil in the frame with a dipstick in the main spine so the tanks have a cut out for this
