Camel foot side stand extension for adventure bikes (located in DE, shipping WW)
10 Attachment(s)
For sale are side stand extensions modeled after the foot of a Bactrian Camel (1st image).
Successfully tested on a 6-month and 25,000 km long motorcycle tour from the Oberpfalz, Germany, to Vladivostok, Russia, during which I crossed several countries like Georgia, Armenia, Iran, Afghanistan, the Stans, Mongolia, as well as Siberia and the Far East of Russia. Each set consists of a ground plate, clamp plate, and top plate including "Camel foot" logo, all laser-cut from stainless steel 304L. The assembly is done using 4 countersunk screws M6 (V2A), 4 washers M6 (V2A), and 4 nylon insert self-locking nuts M6 M6 (V2A). The countersunk screws are guided through 4 O-rings (NBR) between the ground plate and the clamp plate. I believe the assembly should be easy to follow based on the exploded view (2nd image). Various views are shown in the 3rd image. Additionally, 3M anti-slip tape is adhered to the underside of the ground plate, which is also laser-cut for a perfect fit. As seen in the bottom right of the 3rd image, the holes are conically countersunk so that the countersunk screws sit flush with the ground plate. In the mounted state, it is hardly distinguishable from the "original" (4th image)^^. The following variations of the camel foot are available: #1.1 Top plate polished ("glossy") | clamp plate bead-blasted (matte) | ground plate polished (240 grit) #1.2 Top plate bead-blasted (matte) | clamp plate polished (240 grit) | ground plate bead-blasted (matte) #2.1 Top plate powder-coated (RAL 9005 semi-gloss) | clamp plate polished (240 grit) | ground plate bead-blasted (matte) #2.2 Top plate powder-coated (RAL 9005 semi-gloss) | clamp plate bead-blasted (matte) | ground plate polished (240 grit) #3.1 Top plate polished ("glossy") | clamp plate powder-coated (RAL 9005 semi-gloss) | ground plate polished (240 grit) #3.2 Top plate bead-blasted (matte) | clamp plate powder-coated (RAL 9005 semi-gloss) | ground plate bead-blasted (matte) #4.1 Top plate powder-coated (RAL 9005 semi-gloss) | clamp plate polished (240 grit) | ground plate powder-coated (RAL 9005 semi-gloss) #4.2 Top plate powder-coated (RAL 9005 semi-gloss) | clamp plate bead-blasted (matte) | ground plate powder-coated (RAL 9005 semi-gloss) #5.1 Top plate powder-coated (RAL 9005 semi-gloss) | clamp plate powder-coated (RAL 9016 "traffic white") | ground plate powder-coated (RAL 9005 semi-gloss) #5.2 Top plate powder-coated (RAL 9005 semi-gloss) | clamp plate powder-coated (RAL 3020 "traffic red") | ground plate powder-coated (RAL 9005 semi-gloss) #5.3 Top plate powder-coated (RAL 3020 "traffic red") | clamp plate powder-coated (RAL 9005 semi-gloss) | ground plate powder-coated (RAL 3020 "traffic red") #Riser plates (+2.5 mm) in various colors. These are simply placed on top of the ground plates. For each riser plate, the side stand is extended by approximately 2.5 mm. Of course, longer screws are included. Price A set (without powder coating) costs 25 €. For each powder-coated part, an additional 5 € is added. An uncoated riser plate costs 5 €, with powder coating 10 €. Originally designed for the BMW R 1200 GS (LC), R 1250 GS, and Adv. versions, but also fits various other models, e.g., the old Honda Africa Twin, old Honda Transalp, BMW F 650 GS (Dakar), and more.
If you want to mount it on an unknown bike, the dimensions are shown in the next image. Or just PM me regarding a specific model:)! Best, Mike PS: The last images show the Camel foot side stand extension in action:cool4:! |
Hi guys, I've been looking into cheap shipping rates (insured incl. tracking) to the USA and UK.
Summarising the shipping costs: Germany: €1.80 EU: €3.30 USA: €7.50 UK: €5.85 Canada: €9.50 Rest of the world: on request Best, Mike |
Hi guys,
as I have had a few requests as to whether the camel foot also fits on the air-cooled R 1200 GS, amongst others. For the air-cooled R 1200 GS, which has a relatively large original side stand foot, I have made an own version with a longer cut-out. Hey folks,
my uncle just got himself a powder coating setup for fun, and of course I had to give it a try! I gave a few of the camel feet a fresh blue finish. If you're interested, just hit me up! :) https://advrider.com/f/attachments/u...-jpeg.6821071/ Best, Mike |
Bumping with a few shots of Camel feet mounted to other air-cooled R 1200 GSs.

Fits the classic BMW R 1100 GS too – even if the top plate’s on backwards in this onedoh. Two spacer plates included for that extra bit of upright confidence.
