Alaska to Argentina-can you organise your own tour?

Hi All,
Has anyone used globeriders.com to do an epic adventure? I am looking to go from Alaska to Argentine with my girlfriend on the back of a GS or KTM. Obviously with precious cargo on board the service of having a support vehicle and experienced tour guide riding with us alleviates a lot of the concerns I have but I don't want to loose the wildness of the adventure with it being too clinical (i.e. I like hotels but I want to be camping under the stars a lot!). Its also incredibly expensive too! If anyone has any experience or can suggest better options for example having a support vehicle companion and finding a local tour guide then I would love to hear your thoughts.
Look forward to hearing back!
Cheers,
Charles

Hello,
My name is Dominic OMahony
I am a Geordie originally but I live in San Diego now.
I am in the process of starting a touring company focused on Southern California, through Baja and on into Panama.
I also want to include all the Back Country Adventure routes and western national parks. Really amazing riding out here.
The intention is to be more of an accompanied tour than a guided tour company. Really just as a safety net.
Have you planned you big trip yet?
I will be in the UK in the next 8 weeks or so and I would love to chat to you about a tour or find out what your experience was like.
PM me if you can and I will forward you my info.
Regards,
Dominic

Most riders just do their own thing in central and south America. Maybe take part in organised rides in particular countries, but surely not the entire trip.

I had the same idea, invite riders to my house and take them on a tour of the USA. All for the price of a morning coffee and fuel for my bike. Very cheap so more riders can afford to see the USA. Hey I went to college in San Diego in early 70's, Dominic if you need another person to assist you let me know. George

Hi Charles,
When are you planning this trip? Its one on my bucket list, prob in 2018, not using a tour company. I often notice there is threads on here with travellers seeking companions to do various trips, maybe worth a consideration?

Go on your own is my advice!
We travelled the Americas from north to south, too and we where bloody rookies with no special abilities.
It´s not a ride around the corner but it´s not as difficult as you might imagine.

Have a look at our story and feel free to contact my with questions via PM: Motorcycle Vagabonds

Cheers

Panny
