WTF is that inside, smuggled drugs?

I recently purchased a cheap travel bike from ebay which I've been riding for a few months now and thought the time is right for sorting out those odd little issues.
One thing that has been bothering me is the poor headlight. Imagine my surprise when I eventually discover why its crap, the inside is coved in white powder! :eek3: loads of it ! It looks like it's been used for smuggling drugs? It could be talc but why? WTF? Anyway that's a result the bike's now much more valuable :innocent:

There have been a few shocks of poor repairs etc in the past but this one leaves me quite mystified, not the kinda "fix" I expected

Got me wondering what you've found when pulling a well used bike apart. ?c?

Party at your place! Good job you didn't start touring South America with it!

Shrekonwheels 2 Jan 2016 17:16

Now all you need are some hookers to go with that blow.

Talc possibly could have been used to try to mitigate condensation, yea, go get some hookers and party, that is unlikely :D

Rub it into your gums. If they go numb it's good stuff.

I know this because my Grandfather was a Dentist and that's how they numbed you up before yanking teeth.

It could also from fumigation if it's been through customs and had bugs on it etc. On that case, you might pass out. But it will clear out any fungus infections in your nose haha.

Lets all all hope it's uncut Peruvian marching powder though. Let us know what tent you're in at the next hubb meeting. Party zone.

:rofl:bier

I hate to piss on anyone's campfire but I didn't win the lottery so I'll do it anyway.

Instead of it being Colombian baking powder it could well be the surface of the reflector dissolving because of contact with salt (water)

Snorting that powder could be a hoot anyway. If not for you then maybe for some innocent bystanders :innocent:

I'll pass on trying anything exciting today with the powder, busy day tomorrow.
It is beyond me how it got in there with out being done deliberately as it is pretty much a sealed unit. I don't think it's the reflector degrading as it's in real good condition.

It could have created quite a stir at the border somewhere if I hadn't found it, I think I better check other "hiding places" :oops2:

So can anyone confirm if snorting dissolved reflector will make ones evening pass any quicker?

I was one questioned in Serbia-ish about a small bag of talc I had in the XTs puncture kit. Pointing at the tyre was no use and I was about five minutes away from offering to snort a bit when they got bored and told me to **** off. I figured a lot of sneezing and the runs was better than playing find the bar of soap with some Mafia type in one of Tito's old prisons.

A sick of chalk can be used to apply a powder to a tube/tyre too... and is much easier to 'say' what it is. Cooking flour could be used the same way .. but explaining it is also difficult.
