Possible help

Hi Jami

As a bike dealer near Banbury in Oxfordshire, I may be able to help and will ask my contacts if they can supply a nearly new Tenere at a trade price and then let you know.

We have many Scandinavians buying bikes and I have been to the Harwich ferry port on 3 occasions to meet customeers from Denmark and Sweden.

(Hi Steve

I posted a reply to your topic about bikes to Denmark. Do you deal a bit? as I'd like a partner over there.)

Good luck and pleased to help.

Regards

Chris

Hi Chris

Great to know, thanks! It's amazing how helpful this forum can be.
BTW, just this morning I asked Mannlines for the price of shipping from Harwich to Turku, Finland and it was 400 euros + VAT. If I can get a delivery to the port that is propably the cheapest solution for me to get the bike to Finland.

hey Jami...

yes, you can have one and not pay VAT but it will HAVE TO be exported and not registered in the UK.. You would have to take it out of the country unregistered and have to register it back home (which is what your trying to avoid ??)

I'm currently on leave my my sales job but I can put you in touch with a collegue of mine who could get you a new one for £4899 or contact you if used one comes available.

Sadly, our dealerships are all in the North West of England but delivery could be arranged..

Euro V Pound

What with the good old Pound being worth just a gnat's more then a Euro, no wonder Europe is coming to us for bikes!

A Vincent Comet 500 worth £10,000 is now worth 11,000 Euros, when that would have been nearer 15,000 Euros a year ago!

Come on Down!

Nope. In fact I have to register it to Finland. A person who lives permanently in Finland can't drive in here with a vehicle that's registered in some other country. The only exceptions to that are export registrated vehicles because their use is only temporary.
When I bring a motorcycle to Finland I have to pay vehicle tax for it and if it's a new one, I also have to pay VAT. But at least in this case it still becomes cheaper than buying one from Finland.
But good to know that if I decide to get a new bike, it can't be registered in the UK or otherwise I won't get VAT off the price.

The bike's found!

I decided to buy a new bike since I didn't find a used one and the price was right. Thanks for everyone who helped me. Can't wait to get my hands on that bike.

Jami
