very embarassed about this!
I should be on the road now, but I cant seem to locate my V5 ! Which has been .....well stressful today. Anyway I have a Temp V5 from DVLA and a new one on the way. I will leave to cross Europe with my Temp V5 heading for the Turkish boarder.
Has anyone crossed into Bulgaria / Turkey with a Temp V5, was there any issue? My wife will be flying into Istanbul with the new V5 next week so from then on no probs. |
Last that way about 4 years ago, can't remember being asked for it, remember the Bulgaria border was a right PITA though, involved about 5 windows and a USB stick, nonsense really. I'm sure you'll be fine. Morroco you need a temp import doc but as I say cant remember being asked for V5 anywhere else (well Ukraine but best to avoid for now!)

Xmas 2012 at Bg/Turkey border and xmas 2013 at Bodrum, coming off boat from a Greek island I was asked for my vehicle reg doc. I was able to hand over a proper v5.
Good luck in convincing them to let you in with a temp one. |
Dvla emailed me doc to print, it looks like i made it myself..
oh..... i did i guess. The original will be in istanbul friday so if i cant blag it will have to go get it or something ? should be trying to cross thursday from bg. sent via tapatalk on the road. |
got to turkey boarder 1 day earlier than planned. arrived around 18.00hrs. Was in within 15mins. No problems. having read several trip reports on this boarder crossing I Dont get why some have taken so long to pass.
Customs took the longest time due to me striking up a conversation before we got down to business, all very happy and freindly. sent via tapatalk on the road. |
that's great news :)
just last night, whilst reading Graeme Field's Ureka book & it was only when he got to the Turkish border did he discover he'd forgotten the V5 - they sent him away. Sounds like you made a good compromise in having a copy emailed to you :) |
