It looks like any plans to travel might be on hold due to spikes in most of europe and other parts of the world !
But here in the uk we may be able to go to Wales ? or scotland ?

What about Orkney- and Shetland Isles? Been there twice and liked it very much. I have never been to Wales tho.

Yes, hopefully we can transfer our ferry tickets to next year.

We’ve got 3.5 weeks holiday and there’s plenty to see in England but, hopefully, we’ll be able to go into Wales as we want to do a couple of ride outs with Moto Junkies

I suspect that there'll be an awful lot of bikes (and cars, caravans, campervans) in Scotland this summer.

This summer, I won't get on any ferry to the Scottish isles without already arranged accommodation or a plan to get back to the mainland the same day

I've just spent 12 hours booking a ten day Bike trip around Scotland in late June.

No camping is available at the moment.

95% of places are fully booked already. I had a very difficult time getting accomodation. All that was left was the grotty places which are charging as much as the nice places were.

So if you want a U.K trip this year, you need to book it NOW...

Hmm - I guess I can understand why, however some of the Isles really need more than a day to enjoy.

We've just finished booking a trip through the outer Hebrides for mid May (3 nights, different place each night).
Accommodation is available but expensive (not too surprisingly).

Sounds like it's going to be standing room only for staycations this year. If Scotland is filling up what are the usual busy places - West Country, Lake District, other national parks etc going to be like? Ben Nevis is going to end up like that photograph of the queue to the top of Everest. :(

I'm not counting on any international travel this year, and keeping an open mind for 2022. All being well I'll be getting my travel fix from the Round Britain Rally which will take me to every county in Britain. Hopefully by travelling weekdays and out of school holiday times I'll minimise the tourist congestion, but will still be aiming to camp wherever possible.
