We're not ! It's called a joke :thumbup1:

Mind you you need not have sold your BMW just because you got a puncture they can be fixed for a few pounds !

Dazzer, there's more than a few people on the HUBB without a sense of humour or who wouldn't recognise a joke if it slapped them in the face: Look at some of the replies to http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...ep-faith-74913

Seems a bit rash to sell off your BMW just because of a puncture ... :innocent:

Who's Marco? Is he a comedian/ sense of humour guru/ BMW mechanic in post #1? Will he twiddle your Ring Antenna for you? :taz:

Toolkit

I think a little bit of jealousy is starting to creep in here, try doing a set on touratech boxes, just fitted some, sent me the wrong boxes, wrong rails the locks have failed on 2 of them and the locking spring has just fell out and I've not even left the house

But tomorrow is another day.

Jealous of what exactly? Of buying substandard, overpriced bling from an outfit who work from the same customer-service manual as Siberian hoteliers and not knowing how to fit it? Of thinking you're something special just because you're (allegedly) riding a m/c all the way to Spain to visit Marco?

Anyway, you never actually answered the previous question. Please advise who the hell Marco is? Van Basten? Polo? The bloke with the tool chest? Does he have a sense of humour? :blushing:

There seem to be one or two who think they're the sole arbiter of what's funny.

 Damn, I had read this thread last year before I bought my insane cheap KTM 990 Adv.
:hang:

But hey! I have the really perfect stuff for adventure travelling. Ok you have to like blue but hmm if you can catch one. TAKE IT!

Tut Tut

Getting a bit personal here are we, I buy the "bling" because it is my choice, the same freedom of choice that men died for 70 years ago. So let go of the petty thinking, get on your bike and do some riding.

The Guzzi came with a beautifully made bright red fabric envelope stowed neatly in a perfect little mount inside the mudguard. This is embroidered with the Guzzi logo in black and gold.

Inside there is:

A c-spanner for adjusting the shocks.
a double ended screwdriver
two allen keys
A card for the dealers details.

A sure sign of good design and reliability except for the fact the allen keys are the wrong size to adjust the mirrors and the dealers card is blank!

That's a funny Guzzi story! I bought a used 1983 Guzzi 850 Le Mans lll. Nice tool kit on that bike stowed in a red cloth pouch, IIRC. Had the basics.

One of the nicest new bike kits I found was on my near-new 2001 KTM Duke ll.
Not only did it come with a really nice tool kit, it also had TWO service books. All came in a high end pouch/binder. Very classy indeed. These little things really add to the buying experience. The Japanese could take a serious lesson here.

I never had problems with my 640 Duke ll ... but my 640 riding buddies on the dual sports certainly did. But KTM were really just coming out of their "dark period" then ... after suffering 10 years of crap bikes (four strokes).
In 2000 they made huge QC changes and the bikes were ALL better ... and continue to get better every year.

They had similar teething problems once the twins were introduced ... but now seem to have it all well in hand ... more or less! :innocent:

But for a travel bike ... the KTM Motto still puts me off. I really don't want a
"Ready To Race" travel bike. Why would you? :helpsmilie:

With the 70th anniversary of Dday coming up, it's good to know that all those brave men didn't die in vain. They gave their lives so that we could buy bling and get in a huff when somebody even dares to poke fun at their pride and joy of an American hot beverage franchise wagon.

This is a photo I took at the weekend:
