Angry, who's angry? Don't take everything too seriously mate, seriously! BTW, angry is when someone spits their dummy out because someone types in bold.

That was spitting out a dummy? You need to get out more. You know... meet some people.

Lois in TBM

I think this thread started with a comment about Lois Pryce's article in TBM just over a year ago. I had subscribed to TBM for quite a few years and was quite a fan of lois's but this interview with Charlie Boorman was a pretty nasty one and was badly defended in subsequent issues. It certainly put me off the magazine and its editorial staff and I have'nt bought one since. The whole LWR thing is what it is. It was made for TV by people who work in TV and it raised the profile of motorcycling in a fairly positive way I think. The interveiw by Lois had Charlie defending, yet again, the whole trip and the way he had done it which he must be completely bloody sick of by now. However he was polite enough to go through with it. She, I think, spotted that he was a little hacked off with her predictable line of questioning and she did'nt hold back from pointing this out several times in the article.

BUT she is better looking than Charlie B :thumbup1: isn't that what this thread started about ?

Where are the pictures ?

I'd let this topic drop if I were you. You really are coming across as childish.

This thread

First of all gents please get back to the thread

While we are here Baluchiman, Mollydog emphasised the generally known fact that it is seen as bad manners to use bold or CAPITAL's - it is seen as shouting. Try and accept it as advice and lets move on.

The Hubb is meant to be enjoyable and informative not for one or two people to rile and insult one another.

Thanks

ChrisC

If CB is hacked off by the "not a proper trip"/"made for TV" thing why give the interview? TB Magazine weren't really going to ask what he thought about talking to Davina on Big Brother were they. We certainly didn't need another article with glossy pictures of BMW's parked on a bit of scrubb 200 yards from the Hilton, by some fawning idiot who thought no one had ridden further than Calais before.

It's old news now, so I'd wonder why some editor sent her off to do it too. Once you've been sent out, you can hardly come back and say "same old rubbish, don't bother to print it". You've then got to write something, but I am surprised LP wasn't more creative, her usual writing style is very good.

My advice (free and therefore worth every penny) would be:

CB; get on a bike, ride somewhere without the TV people, then write a book called "My way round/down/up" comparing the different experiences.

LP; More of the book stuff and less journalism unless you are sure it's going to be of the same quality. Don't be afraid to tell editors to get lost, one bad piece can ruin the brand.

Seems like good advice to me.

Just in case someone was intending to reply to my last comments, I have decided to respect the mods wishes and to allow this thread to remain on track. I will not comment on this thread again.

There's a certain irony in this whole thing though isn't there?

Lois, does it on her own, writes a blog as she goes and then gets a book deal out of it (and her blogs now gone I believe?), gets a second book deal and is now being paid to write pieces and have a dig at Charley boy. Both of them are bikers through and through, they'd nod or wave if they passed each other on the road with lids on. Whatever happened to the brother & sisterhood of bikers?

Still living in west London... no kiddies to be seen.

Austin recently took part in a trip down to Timbuktu which is being edited at the moment into a film. You may be pleased to learn he has ditched the insane sideburns he sported in the documentary he made about last years "Dawn to Dusk" enduro which featured on the Extreme Sports channel here in the UK a number of times over Xmas / New Year. (Touratech probably sell the DVD if you missed it)

Lois is thinking about a summer project with another well known female rider.

So business as usual for the Vinces.
