Insurance doesnt want to pay fair amount of towing after crash in Saskatchewan!

Insurance doesnt want to pay fair amount of towing after crash in Saskatchewan!
It is my moral duty to inform everybody, that a certain insurance company which advertises on the Horizons Unlimited website for insurances in Canada and the USA for foreigners, and for Canadiens and US folks abroad, doesnt go with our ethics.
Please inform other riders, that they cannot trust this company more than others, only because they advertise on this webside with stickers of AMA and BMW.

The contract sais roadside assistance and towing is included in all policies. Towing up to 35 miles. After many letters they offer 75$.
The story: gravel got too deep, crash, bike crashed, gear all over the place, clavicle and two ribs broken, unconcious most of the time, police officer cant find the telefon number of the insurance company, I would, but I pass out and cant move anyway, and the ambulance wants to bring me finally to the hospital in Prince Albert under strong drugs already. The Police officer and other helpers said that there is only one towing company in the area, so it wouldn matter. This much I remebered and I passed out again.
Insurance sais that they dont pay if their number was not called. I asked them if this also applies if the rider is unconcious, or if everything burned, and also if there is only one towing company in the whole area and I dindt get an answer to my points.
In the contract there is only said that they must be called prior to towing and a 35 miles limit is mentioned, yes, but what if you cant call? That releases them from all duty?
35 miles cost more than 75$, even when the insurance calls the towing, specially if there is only one.
My german lawyer cant do anything from there and I am already long time in Mexico and try to get all the way south.

The discussions I had with them were rediculous. They tried to tell me that their additional and free of charge roadside assistance and towing I didnt pay for, so I should be happy with their offer. At the same time they say it is part of all policies they sell. So what? Is there a case or not? Also that they would not KNOW the towing company. Etc., etc. .
Greyzone? No, I dont think so, actually clear, but they keep it unclear which the exact conditions are.
Until today I didnt get any written form of statement under which conditions they pay which amount. So I think I am right and they are wrong.

I hope you were reading until here, because here comes my point!
Any commercial enterprise which advertises on this webside should just be fair and go with the ethics of this webside, which are being helpful, supporting each other, being fair and giving hints. This web side exists because people help each other, so everybody who earns money on it, please respect these values!

I dont ask for a gift! I didnt do anything wrong! But the insurance treats me as if I did. An unconcious rider cant do much wrong.
You see, the contrast is, that my FRIEND DON DROVE THE TRUCK AND THE TRAILER FROM WASHINGTON STATE TO SASKATCHEWAN IN 2 DAYS to pick me up from the hospital and the bike from the towing in Prince Albert. Right after I woke up after the surgery, there he was and smiled after driving day and night 1.200miles. "Oh, I m fine, just a bit tired, but I would pick you up from New York if you crashed. Lets sleep one night and lets go HOME early in the morning." Next morning we did go back in 2.5 days, since I needed to sleep at night a bit.
You might think NY is a bit far away from Washington State to pick up a friend who cant move, but I know he would. Don doesnt make jokes about these things, he just does it. I met Don last year through HORIZONS UNLIMITED, and since then we are friends. He is maybe one of the greatest example for help you can find on HORIZONS UNLIMIZED.

I owe him still the amount of $792,75, which is a lot for a rider on a long long way around and all the way south. In that amount is some storage the kilometers, and the work for putting the bike on and off the trailer, etc. You know how they make their money. The amount the insurance should pay for 35 miles and the on and off is probably around $600, since on and off applies always.
I refuse to take the $75, and I can give Don the whole amount back next year. And I dont need to get any of the insurance, if they start being clear, fair and it doesnt happen to others. After I told the insurance, that I have to inform others, I got no reaction on this and no more reaction at all, so I post this.

Multiple posts all over the place will not win you friends. :nono:

The policy is for a few miles ... not 1,000 of miles.

You need to realise that your expectation is unrealistic compared to what the policy says.

Ethics? Under the policy you are not entitled to all the towed miles. That is ethical .. they give the conditions to you, well before your event.

Well, thanks Warin.

Still, 75 is not the rate you can tow a motorcycle for, even it is only 35 miles. I only want them to pay the fair amount, for me, and for someone who will be in the same unlucky situation in the future.

And, I am sorry, I don't think you get the point. There is a lot of ethics involved.

Ride save,

Thomas
