Happy Birthday to the country that so many of us have ridden in (and through on the way to Norway)!

The home of lakes, forests, murderous herds of reindeer standing in the middle of the road just behind a blind crest, saunas that help take the stiffness out of your muscles after a hard day's ride, and of course, Rukka riding suits - when you absolutely, positively, need to spend a thousand euros on a jacket!

This item of news was passed over in the main stream media of the UK, among all the ongoing hubbub and hubris.
Somewhat ironically, a short time ago the BBC, and others, were proclaiming the history of the Russian revolution - the "glorious Oct 17 revolution" - Finland scarcely mentioned.
