Well the side of that mountain was 45 degrees and there was no way to go up or down and I could go back because I knew about all the stuff I had to do to get to this point. The tree was waist high on the low end so I couldn't go over. So a walked the trail a bit before going under. I was alone and figured that was the safest action. ;)

unorthodox is good! :thumbup1:

solo trail riding HAS to mean that risk assessment becomes paramount in any decision. I would add here that I would probably not have thought of that solution :confused1: & if I had, couldn't have dragged the Transalp through by it's front wheel anyway

My riding buddy had lost his clutch on the trail so I went on ahead instead of backtracking since it was supposed to be a shorter way back to pavement. It was shorter on the map but it took me longer because of all the obstacles on the trail. :(

more info...my riding buddy ended up walking back to the road after some hikers talked to him into backtracking and made it back to camp before I did. :( They were about to send out the search party when I finally made it back to camp.
