Canadian registered bikes in the E/U

Does anyone know if there is a time limit on how long a person can leave a Canadian registered motorcycle in Europe? Storing it there going back each year (renewing the Sticker) and riding for a couple of months.

In theory I am sure it is six months but in reality longer especially if you travel in and out of the EU to neighbouring countries, it has been mentioned here somewhere that Georgia is a particularly good place to leave them. Alternatively buy a bike in Europe and keep it here until your wandering have finished and sell it again.

It's an interesting question. The EU laws say you can use your vehicle for a period of no more than six months in a year. It does not explicitly stipulate that you must re-export the vehicle after those six months - just that you must stop using it after six months. It would seem that if you bring in the vehicle, then can show your passport stamps to prove you have been out of the EU for more than six months consecutively, you ought to be able to keep the vehicle in the EU in a garage in the intervening time.

I'll ask my local (Estonian) road administration for clarification - they are usually quite good at responding to questions like this.

Thank you Both for your replying. I'm hoping to keep the bikes in Ireland at first.
