This comes after the parent company Amazon (who would have guessed, right?) has decided to "eliminate" a number of positions across its Devices and Books businesses.

Amazon took a similar position with DPReview.com, which they purchased many years ago. DPReview will be gone next week, upsetting the photo community, as there is nothing like it anywhere. AFAIK, they have not looked at any offers to purchase that site.

Shame about DPReview. As for Book Depository, being owned by Amazon kind of went against its reason to exist - which was to order from not-a-giant-retail-corporation. So, won't particularly miss it.
