Big rider, small bike

350 pound rider on a 1200 GS. Doable? Crazy? Too high a center of gravity?

The GS' listed 'Payload' weight is 485#. I assume the rider is included in that so that leaves only 135# for "everything else". Do they make after market overload shocks for the GS?

Wilbers shocks are made to your weight and riding style, ideal for the larger gentleman,

Aftermarket shocks etc are available, but if you are riding solo and you load the bike up with camping gear etc , you shouldn't really have any issues with the stock set up as you should still be under the total GVW. If a passenger is added into the equation then you will have to find some suspension help.

Depending on your inseam, top heavy can either be an issue or a non issue.

Of course it depends on what and how much travelling you are planning on doing.
