Take the road from Llanidloes , past staylittle turn left past Dylife towards Machynlleth ! .............. dont ride fast look at the views towards snowdon

devils staircase starts at Tregaron towards Beulah 2 wee bends !

The cops in North Wales don't have the best reputation for being bike friendly. Is that the case or a rural myth?

The police force in wales are to be well shall we say best to be avoided !
BUT ..................... can you blame them, some of the best roads in uk are there. but unfortunatly there are some motor bike " riders " who use theses as race tracks and they give us all a bad name.
I have had 2/ 3 stops due to dirty number plate. . got of bike and cleaned it and was on my way ! Ithink its the bike you ride that is the problem!!:scooter::scooter::scooter::scooter: ( never get stopped on one of these ! )

You hear many stories of this, they can't all be false. The usual technique seems to be to pull over as many bikes as possible and go over them with a fine tooth comb looking for trivial infringements. Small/dirty numberplates or loud pipes being particular favourites. The idea is to disincentivise bikes from using their roads so they go have accidents on somebody else's stats.

That said I was up there in September, not a dibble in sight and some wonderful roads round Llangollen and the Ponderosa cafe. Avoid peak hooning times and don't RLAC and it's quite enjoyable ;)

Two we bends on the staircase itself…….up a 25% climb…….amid absolutely stunning scenery for miles whichever direction you ride……and right next to the epic Abergwesyn common. Not an area to miss [emoji16]

But it is in mid-wales rather than the north.

know it very well ( another fantastic area ) i try and get there mid week and on a suuny day ! :nono:
