If it is the one I am thinking of then this I fully understand; I met and talked with some followers of a well known brand of forum for UK BMW riders and a more conceited bunch of cliqueish people would be hard to find anywhere else IMO.
I kept the Beemer but don't go near that forum. They did have an amount of internicine (is that the right word?) in-fighting a few years ago IIRC, with sub-groups splitting off and going their own way including with rival websites - wonder what happened to all that? Well actually, no I don't wonder - I don't care in fact.

Anyway, back on thread, well done Giacomo, you certainly are a good samaritan who goes to extraordinary lengths to help out a stranger, who does not know, yet, what you have done to assist. :clap:

Unfortunately it still doesn't give information to help contact the owner, or locate where a vehicle is right now - I have just used it to check on my own vehicle.

Yes you are correct, but it does give tax status and whether or not the bike still exists.

think also flags if stolen definitely if exported.

Well yes, it's certainly taxed and insured, until may, as I said already. So now everyone I know in the airport is keeping their eyes open for a lost looking English biker who hopefully will turn up any day now, ( I think some bets have also been placed :) )

Otherwise, I'll let you all know what the DVLA tells me when/if I get an answer from them.

And thanks Walkabout, I realise now that I finished up on a very wrong forum, which I was glad to ask to be cancelled from, after years of hanging out here and on British VW car forums (my other ride is an old beetle), I'm certainly not going to let them change the wonderful opinion I have about all the very friendly and helpful folk I've met in your country.
BTW, thanks for the comment, I was lucky enough to get the beginnings of a British education when I lived in Scotland as a child, and some of it ocasionally comes in very useful.
