KLR 650 Front Sproket

I have just taken off my front sproket cover on my KLR 650 and found that the front sproket is not loose but does move. I have checked the two bolts that hold the sproket on and they are tight. Is this sproket suppose to have some movement in it or is it suppose to be tight with no movement.

If the two bolts are tight, then I imagine it is designed to have a degree of 'float' in the fitting - my Honda XR 400 and 650 have the same set up...

I'm sure a KLR owner will be along shortly to confirm though...

Yes thats the way it's meant to be, same set up as Honda bikes, though the retainer ring does wear and it's a good idea to replace it if you feel the sprocket has too much movement.
