or maybe "ghetto solutions", the title somehow speaks itself : )

the point is discussing / sharing some tips, tricks or experience which might be very quick and handy especially in the places or in the situations where it's hard to get spares or needed service.

i consider such knowledge as an important luggage something like a good tool kit.
but another also important thing is to assess and know how reliable they might be. some of them are really temporary, kinda "safe postponing" of necessary service.

ok, here're few findings by me : )


when my cush rubbers became compressed i stuffed remaining space with thin plastic rectangular plates (green dots)

they were quite densely, so i needed some liquid soap to assemble wheel back.
maybe slightly harder than new rubbers but far more better than new rubbers with minor wear.

it's about air filter protection from oil drizzle.
i attached a barrier in front of vent hose and metal sponge behind.
when the engine is in good condition there's no explicit need for such stuff but as far as i know there're still some risks, e.g. during tip overs etc.

here're at least two important details - sponge should be made from one, continuous wire not tended to dissolve; another thing is airbox shape. here i don't impede the airflow but maybe not all airboxes will allow this.
