gear oil leak on suzuki gs-250t
I JUST BOUGHT A 1981 GS-250 SUZUKI THREE MONTHS AGO . WAS LEAKING SOME KIND OF OIL , THOUGHT IT WAS THE OIL PAN SEAL BUT WHEN I TOOK IT APART IT WASN'T THAT . ITS COMING FROM WHERE THE SHIFTER IS, OUT WHERE THE CASE COMES TOGETHER. WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT MIGHT BE ITS NOT MOTOR OIL CASE IT DOESN'T GO DONE PLAN ON GOING ON A TRIP SOON . :confused1::confused1::confused1::confused1::confu sed1::confused1:

It will be the round oil seal around the shifter shaft. Often these can be pulled out by screwing a couple of wood screws in and pulling with pliers. Usually they get damaged when the bike goes down and bends the shifter shaft so make sure that's staright too.
