dr650 choke switch / wire

hello all,

in the process of converting the choke on a 2009 dr650 to a pull knob. The lever on the handlebar seems to engage a switch when fully engaged. I cant find this anywhere in the manual or the wiring diagram. Wondering if anyone knows what this is and if it is important or can be bipassed. obviously the pull knob will not engage it.

Kind Regards in advance

Im not aware of any switch that the stock choke depresses, can you post a photo of the switch you mean? the clutch switch is up next to the stock choke, but is nothing to do with it

OK... so that was late in the day that I was looking at the switch. on closer examination the "switch" was simply a return spring.

Theres nothing better than an easy fix :)

Think on....

This is one of the mods I made along with ripping cutout switches off etc. However it is really fiddly to pull that knob out from behind the push/pull throttle cables and if you stick a big tank on it's like finding a clitoris in a rugby club. I'd stick with cable until it starts playing up. It's one of them "if it's not broke" things
