best engine oil for DRZ 400 in Addis?
 

Hello all,

I have ridden my Suzuki DRZ 400s to Addis and urgently need to buy a fresh bottle of engine oil before I continue further south offroad via Lake Turkana to Nairobi.

The problem I have is that the recommended oils according to the handbook are (seemingly) impossible to find here in Addis. The Suzuki dealer here recommends some kind of Total Quartz 9000 oil for cars I think, haven't found the bottle yet so don't yet know the API value etc. Would love to also hear what other people have found/used/got away with as want to find the best/least harmful stuff to put in her.

I don't know what the oil requirements are for a DRZ, but I have regularly used Total 9000 in my KTM and it has worked fine. If you can't find that, Total 7000 is also fine but is only semi synthetic.
