2-up on a dr800

Hi,

I am looking for an alternative for my XL600 as it doesn't quite have the grunt for 2-up and luggage. Under weight the front end becomes a bit too bouncy for my liking too :)

Does anyone have any opinions on the dr800 - the one I am looking at is a 93 with 20,000 miles on it BTW.

Thanks,

Paul

Dr 800

Hi, I've had my DR from new. I bought it in '98 with a 3 box pannier system. Since then I've modded as the years have gone by.

It's good 2 up however the passenger tends to slide down the seat. I had my seat reworked last year with a built up step for the passenger, a la V-Strom.

I have used the bike in the UK and Cyprus. (I lived out there for just over 2 years). The only problem was when the temp got up to around 40, the carbs couldn't handle the heat on the motorway.

So-far I've covered 30K miles. A new rear shock and clutch have been the only things I've HAD to replace. The rest has been changed........because I could.

Since the pictures were taken I've fitted crash bars, spot lights and the modified seat. I'll add some more pics soon.

If you want any more info drop me a line.
Andy.

XLV650, perhaps? More reliable, less vibes, greater usable rev range.
