WET SEASON Cameroon Gabon Congo DRC Angola

1 Attachment(s)
I'm organizing a bike trip from Spain to Cape town through the west coast, for the months Oct, Nov, Dec.

I saw in the forum, the pic that I attached, saying that is the wet season in Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, DRC, Angola.

Do you think it´s a bad idea?

I don´t have a lot of alternatives

Its ok... Just do the difficult sections after a days sunshine... Mamfe and Congo not cool in the rain.

We was there at 2012 at near the same timeframe - no much mudd.

When it rains - it will be a lot of fun (maybe not on a bike) :thumbup1:

In Congo we got some rain - this was a lot of drifting! With a motorbike I would wait there until the track is dry again ....

Hurry up

Everyone who wants to feel a climate of the real western coast roads has to hurry up a bit.
The Congo part (Dolisie - Brazzaville) is probably paved already, in Jan the new road was waiting for tarmac layer.
The Cameroon part (Ekok - Mamfe) is the last chance for a real adventure, but in Jan the jungle was cut already for the new road ...
After the rain is worth to wait a bit, I lost my fan due to the mud (in cameroon) which meant no cooling facilities in my engine so the min speed until Cape was 60 km/h:scooter:
Enjoy !!!

Ekok-Mamfe almost ready. Passed end of november. Only about 30 km (good) piste left

In december 2011 the chinese told me the road will be finished "soon", nobody I´ve asked wanted to be more precise ! ;-) If you cross the border at Ekang later in the day coming from Calabar, there is a village some kilometers after the border where you can get simple food. Ask the chief nicely for permission and he is probably going to help you out with a place to sleep, for me he organised a small hut and I was invited to join a family for dinner !
