Vehicle Storage in Southern Africa (outside of customs union)

Hi all - am hoping to crowd source some help!

I currently have my Land Cruiser in storage in Joburg, and am coming back to Africa for 3/4 weeks of holiday during May.

I want to find a good place to store it, but it needs to be outside the South African customs union (ie SA, Namibia, Botswana) as my carnet extension there will run out in a couple of months.

Does anyone know any good place to store vehicles in Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe or Tanzania (in that order of preference)?

Bonus points if they'd be willing to transfer my carnet over when it runs out so I don't have to fly back over.

I know about Foley's in Livingstone, but am just trying to get as many options as I can, so I can plan a fun route for my trip.

Thanks in advance!

I am currently storing my vehicle in Dar (Tanzania) and it seems pretty good with secure parking. Price is 1.5 euros/ day (45/ month), and is easy to get to get. There is also another storage place in the north of Tanzania and I have their contact details if you want, pm me but I have never used them so can't vouch for them

Friends stored theirs in Zambia - Lusaka - and it was well looked after. I can ask exactly where if you like....?

PS: Remember to think about the climate - I had to leave mine in Dar for a few months and the rust was unbelievable when I came back (as it was right next to the ocean). Dar is hot and humid, salty near the ocean.

good point roamingyak but my landy is pretty well used and treated badly from all the bush driving and off road driving over the years.. as long as the engine runs that's all I am happy about .

If you want storage in the Southern africa Custom Union, exemple RSA you can do it with a Second Carnet(your 1e Carnet end is: exemple 30 November, so you leave the Custom Union on that date, with the 2e Carnet start on the 1e December you enter Zambia or Angola or Mozambique) I dit it many years like this(1997...2000 & 2003....2005) in Gauteng Provinz. No Problem:thumbup1:
