Uganda-Tanzania: Up to date info needed.
 

I've tried to search on the Hubb for some info on these roads, but it all seem to be from about three years ago.

So, I would like to know the following:

Is the ferry between Bukova and Mwanza running? If so, is it possible to take a motorbike on it, or is it passengers only? We could only find that it doesn't have a ramp for vehicles, but would like to know if bikes are allowed or not.

The state of the roads between:

Mutulula(Uganda/Tanzania borderd)-Bukova
Bukova-Mwanza if no ferry.
Mwanza-Nzega
Nzega-Singida
Singida-Babate

The other alternative is to go down to Rwanda and then to cross into Tanzania, all the way across to Dar. Any tips on the roads from Rwanda?

I appreciate that it is not the rainy season now, but it is also not rainy season on the Moyale-Isiolo road and that didn't stop it from being horrendous!

Unfortunately my info is two years out of date (Mar 05), but at that time Babati to Nzega via Singida was ok. The wet season had just started and there was some mud and a few bogged trucks, but nothing that would cause too much concern for a bike.

At that time it was definately easier than the Moyale-Isiolo road, which has a lot more corrugations and sharp rocks. The roads in western tanzania were more hard packed dirt than stones.

Heading west towards the Burundian / Rwandan borders the road from Nzega became tarred near Kahame.
