Trip to Liuwa Plains, Zambia for Migration in November
 

Hi,

I'm planning a trip from Lusaka to Liuwa Plains in time for the migration in early November, with my land cruiser, and looking for some travel companions.

I've read it can be a tough route, so better done in convoy. Is anyone likely to be in that part of the world then, and fancy joining forces?

Also, any intel on the route and how passable it is likely to be in November would be much appreciated!

Pop in to the Land Cruiser Club of Southern Africa, there are a few guys there from your part of the world and a few more who have done that trip that can advise on recent conditions.

Also check out the SA 4x4 Community website. Lots of detailed material about preferred routes and timing. Consensus there is that early/mid Nov is fine, last week of Nov, early Dec may be dodgy. Of course no one knows when the rains will come but the good news is that once you're in the park you have a couple of days after the rains come before the way out becomes impassable.
