Southern Africa in April-June?
I've checked the weather patterns and it seems to me that travelling thorugh Southern Africa in April - June wouldn't be a problem (Weather wise that is). Lower temps and less rain. Good for biking and camping. Am I missing something?
Am planning to start in South Africa probably in April, then go Namibia, Zim, Bots, Zambia, Malawi Tanz, Kenya. |
Hi Dom,
We are planning on doing the same thing. Flying from Argentina to South Africa and making our way to Europe. Weather wise for the south it will be fine. Daryll |
We started in April in south africa and are currently in Kenya. The weather has been fine, but be prepared for cold and rain.
Well, cold would be aorunf +6 at night.... Not exactly Alaska |

Hi Mike,
Glad to see that you are still on the road. Let me know if you need anything in South Africa as I still have all my family there, so looking to sponge off them for a bit before heading north. Let's stay in touch. We are in Antigua Guatemala, heading up to Semuc Champey and Tikal over the next few days. Daryll |
May/June is fine for Southern Africa. End of June might have cold crisp nights, but usually nice & sunny during the day. The further north you go, eg. Northern Namibia or Zambia, the warmer it is. So is the eastern coast (Mocambique, KwaZulu-Natal).
What's best is that there are hardly any tourists around at that time :D |
Thanks everyone. See you all in Africa:scooter:
