question about ethopian visa for us citizen
 

we are currently in kenya and need our visas for ethopia. after reading all the posts here i contacted the ethopian embassy in washington dc. a very unhelpful representitive told me it was totally illegal to send my passport back from africa and the only legal way is to contact a business in ethopia and have them contact immigration on my behalf and a visa will be waiting for me at the border. im 99% sure this would NEVER work. are there any us citizens that have gotten a ethopian visa recently and could enlighten me on the process?
