Price of fuel in Sudan

Can anyone give some pointers to the cost of fuel in Sudan. And how available is it in the north?

I'm pretty sure it was less than a US dollar a litre, but not widely available. there was some at Wadi Halfa and again at Atbara. half way along this route, there's a little town where you can buy it from sunflower bottles. you need to allow for 300km of soft sand. ie 500km range on tar.
the local word for diesel sounds like "gasoline" so I had to push the bike 2km back to the station after filling up with diesel.

In March 2004 i remember it being around 120-150 Dinar (260Dinar = US$ at time)per litre. There was more fuel stations than indicated on the Michelin map. Places not indicated that had fuel bowsers i bought fuel from or noticed: Abri; twice along the east bank south of Argo where no towns are indicated; halfway between Abud Dom and Omdurman; El Kadad near Meroe Royal City. I got the impression that anywhere you see a fair few vehicles a fuel outlet will be close, otherwise an opportunistic person in probably every village has a some in a container! It is low grade though so you wil probably use 20%more than normal.
