Nile ferry exists?
 

Hello!
Has anyone ever heard of a ferry service from Khartoum or anywhere that takes you all the way up the nile to Cairo? I can't afford a carnet for Egypt so I'd like to ship my bike from Ethiopia or Sudan to Italy and then get aboard a boat and relax all the way to Cairo where I'll get a ferry across the mediteranean and meet my bike in Italy. I know that a ferry used to exist but things have probably changed. I'd be very grateful if anyone could give me any info, cheers

Hi, I was in Khartoum recently and I haven't heard of any ferries, there are cateracts on the map so I presume these are rapids, I saw no boats at all on the Nile being used as ferries except to cross from one side to the other. Chris
