Nigeria - Cameroon (Ring Road) border crossing ?
Hello
We'll be in Abuja in the next couple of weeks and I'm trying to find out information on road conditions and border posts that would allow us (two pedaling cyclists) to cross from eastern Nigeria (in the area of Takum/Bissaula) onto the northern section of Cameroon's Ring Road (near Nkambe). The Rough Guide mentions a hiking route between Bissaula (Nigeria) and Dumbo (Cameroon) that is only possible/passable for foot traffic, but I have also heard of a route via the villages of Abongshi - Ako - Nkambe that is driveable/rideable. I can't find any info online, however, and wonder if anyone could enlighten me? There is a track marked on the Michelin map that skirts to the east of Bissaula before cutting south to Nkambe, but that could be more hypothetical cartography. For a map of the area see here.
