Nigeria
Hi
Is there any way around Nigeria if I can’t get through it? We are 1 British and 1 South African travelling down to Cape Town next year. Is it worth applying for visas before we leave or chance it on the way? And if refused is there a way by boat, maybe ship the bikes and fly if it’s not possible to go with the bikes |
Hi,
And another question about Nigeria: Is it always dangerous to travel across this country with personal car (to enter in Cameroon)? I've heard some bad expériences from travellers some years ago:( RR. |
You can get visa on arrival for Nigeria. I documented this in a post.
Some areas of Nigeria are unsafe. I planned my route by following a travel advice map I was advised not to wild camp here. Outside of Lagos, hotels become cheaper. Nigeria was awesome! People were very friendly and liked chatting. It's a cool place! |
I looked into routes around Nigeria. I think Sallaum Lines and Grimaldi have options, but at the time, I didn't find any more detailed info other than shipping routes.

Thanks for these infos.

Agree with Stephen. I loved Nigeria and only wished I'd stayed longer. So much variety. You do have to be conscious of course but I would never recommend that it should be avoided. I was also very nervous about going before I got there.
