Niamey to NDjamena on a street bike.....Possible?
 

Away from and not including the northern parts, what is the current security situation in southern Niger between Niamey and NGuigmi?
What is the piste (if there is one) condition between NGuigmi and NDjamena going round lake Ndjamena?
Has anyone recently travelled on that part of Africa?
Is it possible to do that route on a street bike?
Any info is greatly appreciated.

I drove this way four years ago in a small 4WD. To Kiffa paved, between Kiffa and N'guigmi some sandy parts on the piste, then to Lioua sandy track, the rest good or paved road.

I thought the security issues were up in the North of Niger!

The whole North of Nigeria is a mess right now and Boko Haram has already done incursions into North Cameroon. It has also spilled into South Niger some time ago.

Pretty soon there won't remain any viable option (I'm not sure any still exists...) to cross from West Africa to Central Africa.
