Nara to Segou anyone tried this.
 

In December 08 i entered Mali via Ayoun el Atrous heading for Bamako and then Segou to the Burkina border. Have never enjoyed the dubious pleasures of finding my way through Bamako and was wondering if anyone had used the route mentioned to bypass Bamako as there is a bridge not far out of Segou to get back across the Niger again. Obviously this is a dry season route and i would love to hear from anyone who has first hand knowledge of it.
Any info would be helpfull for future trip.

came through in 2005, nice. from Nema south, just ask for the road, there is the prints of our journey on the Google maps, Photography and Journey: Festival au desert, Mali, Tuareg in Essakane, Tombouctou/Timbuktu, Baba Salah, Tiris. was in dry season.
