Mauritania/Senegal border crossing
 

Has anyone crossed from Mauritania to Senegal recently or have any uptodate news on the carnet requirments?
We are leaving for Morocco soon and not sure wether to cross to Mali direct from Mauritania or go via Senegal. The Diamma route seems less hassle I know and we have a carnet but will we have to go to Dakar to extend it or continue esat to Mali?

I've only tried Rosso once but I would definately prefer Diama. Crossed at Diama in january 2011. With a carnet there was no need to go to Dakar for registration.
But a year before that they wouldn't even accept my carnet, they issued a laisser passez.

I'm sure someone else has more recent info.
