have heard stories about Rosso border and wondered if there are any other borders that people have found easy?

There's quite a bit on the HUBB on this topic, some of which refers to a more easterly crossing point. If you search around, the info you want is there.

Good roads

depends on your perspective. Rosso is cheaper, but a lot more hassle. the barrage is much easier. I have done both and personally would always prefer the barrage. to find it just take the last track on your right before the ferry terminal in Rosso. when you miss it turn round at the garage, swerve round the hawkers and take your first left (about 50 metres)!! it follows the side of the river so you will know if you are on the right track. It's actually west of rosso.
