Mali visa, where and how much we paid.
 

Just got our Mali visa in Nouakchott, Mauritania.

30 days
Starts when you want.
He just wanted , 2 photos and one copy of passport.
The form is the usual questions, including "Point of entry to Mali. This was put in the passport..which is a bit of a pain if i change my mind.

Price... 6500um..which is £13/ 17 euro. All done in 4 hours. Correct me if i am wrong, but this is cheaper than Dakar etc...????

I went to Mali end of 2013 and visited Dogon Land and spent 4 days up in the mountains there.....AWESOME time. From there you can go to Burkina Faso through a good piste. I wish I could do this again in the near future.

Crossing at the Senegal/Mali border in the south east corner of Senegal. Nice easy crossing with no hassle.
When you arrive in Mali from there you get to a T- Junction..turn left. This is now a tarmac road..five years ago it was not.
Then head for "Cool Camp" by the big lake..nice spot..(Google it)
We have been told that "The sleeping camel" camping in Bamako is full of UN and Mali security guys..this could make it either very safe or as i think a great target for a bomb!!! happy days!!
Burkina Faso is now throwing up a few problems as well now... A few years from now i think this whole western Africa route will become very hard to do.

Mali visa in Dakar
 

I recently got my Mali visa in Dakar, at 9am I left 2 passport photos, copy of passport, passport, I filled in the form with my entry and exit points, and where I was going in Mali. The cost was 25,000 francs. I picked up the passport at 2pm the same day, with 10000 francs worth of stamps in it and a receipt for 15,000 francs. The visa did not state entry and exit points, just that I was going to Bamako. Here is my experience:

You can also get it in Conakry, Guinea - recently it was 6 Euro for one month single entry.
