Mali visa in Nouakchott for Nioro
 

Has anyone got one recently in Nouakchott & gone over the border at Nioro?

Reason I ask is a) I'm going myself shortly & b) I've just been talking to a Malian friend on a French passport who got one in Nouakchott & was turned around a month or so ago near Nioro :oops2:

They told him that he should have only been issued one if he had a hotel booking and a flight. He managed to go through Senegal instead with some sort of amendment to the visa done in NKT ... I saw the amendment myself, I find the whole scenario a little odd!

The embassy there will ask where you are crossing and add this to your visa stamp..i had no problem.

Got Mali visa in Nouakchott a few days ago , trouble free and only took a few hours , we did have to nominate entry point and accommodation , told them Sleeping Camel in Bamako which was fine . We are crossing in from Senegal

Yes, as I mentioned, via Senegal seems to be OK (hoping I can go that direction with a little help!) but Nioro (coming from Ayoun el Atros) is not accepting NKT issued visas it appears.

Anyone been via Nioro in the last month???

got visa there too a couple of weeks ago. no issues. I went via gogui which is 1000km of pretty uninteresting difficult ride with few fuel or accomadation options but u can do it in day and a half.
